"The Central Statistics Office (CSO) reports that data centres accounted for 18% of total metered electricity consumption in Ireland in 2022, up from 5% in 2015. Consumption rose 31% year-on-year to 5,252 GWh. Total metered electricity consumption was 29,500 GWh in 2022, a 3.5% increase on 2021. The increase is driven by both existing data centres using more power and new connections."
