"A two-year report on Ireland's Basic Income for the Arts (BIA) pilot, providing €325 weekly to 2,000 artists, shows significant positive impacts: recipients are 6 percentage points more likely to have worked in the arts, spend 11 more weekly hours on creative practice, and are 14 percentage points more likely to complete new works. They work 3.5 fewer hours outside the arts, have better mental health, and face lower deprivation (30% vs 50% in control group). The control group shows increasing disengagement from the arts sector."
