"Ireland's greenhouse gas emissions fell 6.8% in 2023, the first time below 1990 levels in three decades, according to the EPA's final 1990-2023 inventory. Major decreases occurred in energy industries (-21.4%) and residential (-7.1%), while transport rose 0.3%. Agriculture fell 4.9%. However, projections show Ireland is not on track to meet the 51% reduction target by 2030, with only a 9-29% reduction projected under existing or additional measures."
