"An external cost-benefit analysis by Alma Economics, published by the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport, found that Ireland's Basic Income for the Arts (BIA) pilot generated over €100 million in social and economic benefits between 2021 and 2025, against a net fiscal cost of just under €72 million. For every €1 invested, society received €1.39 in return. Recipients' arts income increased by over €500 per month, while dependence on social welfare declined. The report also highlighted significant improvements in psychological wellbeing."
