"The Irish Department of Culture, Communications and Sport published a FAQ for the Basic Income for the Arts 2026–2029 scheme. The scheme will provide €325 per week to 2,000 artists for three years. Applications closed on 12 May 2026. Selection will be by anonymised random draw. First payments are expected before end of 2026, backdated to September 2026. Eligibility requires three proofs of active professional artistic practice, at least two from Irish bodies. A separate stream for recent graduates offers up to 100 places.
