"In a detailed parliamentary response, the Minister for Justice outlined progress on Garda recruitment, including 794 new recruits in 2025 and a target of 5,000 over five years. The Zero Tolerance DSGBV strategy received €80m in Budget 2026, with 95 actions and a goal of 282 domestic violence accommodation units by end of 2026. Immigration enforcement saw a 96% increase in deportation orders signed in 2025. The Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024 was commenced, establishing new oversight bodies. The response also covered youth justice, CAB reforms, and the transfer of responsibilities including IPAS and the National Cyber Security Centre."
