"The Football Association of Ireland faces internal pressure from its membership to convene an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to vote on refusing to play scheduled Nations League matches against Israel. A letter sent to the 145 General Assembly delegates, proposed by the PFAI and several clubs, argues the games should not go ahead on legal and moral grounds. The FAI had previously warned of serious consequences if they forfeited. The Minister for Sport and junior minister told an Oireachtas committee they would not attend the Israel fixture. A deadline for responses is set for Friday."
