"The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published its greenhouse gas emissions projections for 2022-2040, showing Ireland is on track for a 29% reduction by 2030 against a legally binding 51% target. All sectors except residential buildings are projected to exceed their sectoral emissions ceilings for 2025 and 2030. The first two carbon budgets (2021-2030) will be exceeded by a significant margin of 24-34%. Full implementation of the 2023 Climate Action Plan and additional measures are needed to close the gap."
