"The Climate Change Advisory Council (CCAC) has proposed carbon budgets for Ireland: 295 Mt CO2eq (2021-2025), 200 Mt (2026-2030), and a provisional 151 Mt (2031-2035). These budgets align with a 51% reduction in emissions by 2030 relative to 2018 (68.3 Mt to 33.5 Mt). The report, adopted on 25 October 2021, analyses sectoral impacts, economic implications, and consistency with EU and Paris Agreement obligations. LULUCF emissions must also reduce by 51% by 2030. The budgets set a trajectory towards climate neutrality by 2050."
